Black is the New Black gala

Materials designed for the California College of the Arts 2015 Gala, Black is the New Black. The fashion show featured six CCA Fashion Design alumni (Amber Clisura, Erick Lopez, Paloma Von Broadley, Pin Yun (Sindia) Lin, Hannah Gallagher, and Les Schweikert) and showcased a variety of work from couture to men’s wear to children?s wear. The Gala was co-chaired CCA trustee Kay Kimpton Walker, Leigh Sherwood Matthes, and Cathy Podell, who helped raise over $645,000. Net proceeds from the event benefit talented and deserving students through the CCA scholarship fund.

The Gala was a huge team effort involving the College’s Development, Communications, and Facilities offices; Gala co-chairs CCA trustee Kay Kimpton Walker, Leigh Sherwood Matthes, and Cathy Podell; CCA Fashion Program alumni; and event designer Stanlee Gatti.
