CCA Gala Honoring Lorna Meyer Calas

Event identity and a multitude of materials for the College’s Gala Honoring Lorna Meyer Calas—a benefit for California College of the Arts’ scholarship fund. The project was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic after much of the material was already produced

From CCA’s website:
To protect the health and wellness of our community and in support of the San Francisco County and California Department of Public Health COVID-19 recommendations, California College of the Arts canceled its gala scheduled for March 23, 2020. Unfortunately, we will not reschedule due to the unknown length and severity of the virus.
The spring gala, our only annual fundraising event for student scholarships, was organized in honor of our wonderful trustee and community leader Lorna Meyer Calas. We deeply regret not being able to celebrate her generosity and leadership. It is difficult to lose this opportunity to raise much needed funds for student scholarships, a cause Lorna is passionate about.

In 2019 this annual fundraising event grossed over $1.2 million, so its cancellation will have an unfortunate and significant impact on student scholarships.

The gala was helmed by co-chairs Kay Kimpton Walker, Cathy Podell, and Stanlee Gatti.
