CCA Design Fall 2022 Lecture Series
Marketing identity system for California College of the Arts Design Division
The design system consisted of a series of ten posters (the entire series is here) to promote the events on campus. The inset squares in the poster drive the design of the Instagram tiles, which are then expanded into other screen uses including, lecture slides, website headers, and Zoom backgrounds. Thematically, the identity is designed based on the principle of pentimento—evidence of an autobiographical trace in a work. This manifests throughout in the background images, where older works from the studio have been repurposed and treated with a large dot halftone effect. The signature typeface is The Future Mono from Klim Type Foundry.
